Adam Hicks has been coaching and giving private lessons for nine years. He moved to San Francisco in December 2013. Prior to giving lessons in San Francisco, Adam operated Starting 9 Baseball in San Diego from 2010-2013. Adam has coached at the high school level as well as all ages of youth club baseball in Phoenix, AZ. Adam also coached with the Dow Baseball Club, based out of Redmond, WA, in addition to coaching at a variety of youth baseball clinics and camps.
Adam played collegiately at Saint Mary's College (Moraga, CA) from 2005 to 2006. While at SMC, Adam started at shortstop and was an all-conference performer in 2005. Before transferring to SMC, Adam played shortstop and third base at Scottsdale (AZ) Community College from 2003 to 2004, where he was an all-region honoree and was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 2003 MLB Draft.
After receiving his B.A. in English from Saint Mary's in 2006, Adam earned his M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Arizona State University in 2008. He taught English at Central High School in Phoenix for three years while also coaching at the school. Adam has also worked in the athletic department at the University of San Diego and is currently a high school teacher and baseball coach in San Francisco.
